German Free Democrats Address Convention

Led by Finance Minister Christian Lindner

Coalition with Center-Left Parties

Christian Lindner, the leader of Germany's pro-business Free Democrats (FDP), addressed a convention of the party on Saturday. The FDP, led by Finance Minister Christian Lindner, entered a coalition with two center-left parties after the 2021 federal elections.

In his speech, Lindner urged party members to remain committed to the party's core values of freedom, individual responsibility, and a strong market economy. He also emphasized the importance of the FDP's role in the governing coalition, saying that the party would work to ensure that the government pursued policies that promoted economic growth and prosperity.

The FDP's convention was held in Berlin and was attended by over 1,000 delegates. The convention is the party's first since the 2021 federal elections, and it was seen as an opportunity for Lindner to set the party's agenda for the coming years.

In addition to Lindner's speech, the convention also featured speeches from other party leaders, including Wolfgang Kubicki, Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, and Marco Buschmann. The convention also adopted a number of resolutions, including a resolution calling for the FDP to work to strengthen the European Union.
